How we test Zapmio
Every change to Zapmio runs through automated tests that simulate the TV's network protocol. Before we write that a TV model works, we test it by hand on a real TV: pairing, every button, volume and power. The date and result go into our compatibility list, and our guides only describe steps we have checked.
1. Automated protocol tests
Zapmio talks to TVs with the same network protocols the TV makers' own apps use. We test that code automatically against simulated TVs every time it changes, so pairing, buttons and reconnects keep working.
2. Hands-on tests on real TVs
On a real TV we check pairing with the on-screen code, the arrows, OK, back, home, volume, mute, power off and power on, and what happens when the TV forgets the phone. Each function is marked as confirmed with the date it was checked.
| TV | System | Tested | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| TCL Smart TV Pro | Google TV | 31 October 2026 | Pairing, arrows, OK, back, home, volume, mute and power off passed. Power on passed with Energy mode set to Increased. |

- We start from the question people actually ask, for example how to turn on a TV without the remote.
- Menu paths and settings come from the TV itself or the maker's documentation. Where models differ, we say so instead of guessing.
- Every guide shows the date it was last updated, and we update it when a TV maker changes its menus.
