Remote app for a TCL 55-inch TV
A TCL 55-inch TV can be controlled from your phone if it runs Google TV or Android TV, which most TCL TVs sold in Europe do. The operating system decides which app works, so the screen size makes no difference. Find the model number on the back of the TV, then use an app that supports Google TV.
Find your TCL model and system
- Look at the sticker on the back of the TV. The model starts with the size, for example 55C745 or 55P745.
- Or on the TV: Settings → System → About → Model.
- Check the home screen: rows of recommendations with a "For you" tab mean Google TV; a purple Roku home screen means Roku TV.

We tested this on a TCL Google TV (Smart TV Pro): in the default energy mode the TV switches off Wi-Fi in standby and cannot be woken from a phone. After Settings → System → Power & energy → Energy mode → Increased, turning the TV on from the phone works.

Frequently asked questions
Does the TV size matter for the remote app?
No. A 43-, 55- and 65-inch TCL with the same system work the same way. What matters is Google TV, Android TV, Roku TV or Fire TV.
Do I need the original remote to set up the app?
No. The TV shows a code on screen that you type into the app. If the TV is off, turn it on with the button on the TV first.
